Two in One
Group Exhibition
Oct 18 - Nov 1, 2024
Starting on Friday, October 19th, Ba gallery will host a group exhibition of paintings and sculptures featuring works by visual artists. This exhibition, titled "Two in One," will be open to enthusiasts until 1st November. The exhibition will showcase works by contemporary artists after the revolution, each of whom has made a significant impact in the fields of painting and sculpture.
The participating artists in this exhibition include: Shahpari Behzadi, Mojtaba Tajik, Aisling Sareh Haghshenas, Farnaz Rabieijah, Nastaran Safaei, Samira Alikhanzadeh, Adeleh Farzindar, Ario Farzi, Elika Ghajar, Golnaz Ghadiri, Farbod Morshedzadeh, Rayka Milaniyan, and Sassan Nassiri.
The artists gathered in this exhibition belong to two different yet interconnected generations, some of whom are former students of Aydin Aghdashloo from years past. As a result, one can trace a common traditional footprint among them and look for signs in their works that are the result of these coincidences, while also pointing to the many differences that stem from each artist's individual perspective, their explorations, and their personal interpretations of teachings, eras, and lived experiences. Perhaps the search for these inevitable commonalities and strange differences is one of the most fascinating inquiries in the study and observation of art. This approach is what invites you to further explore the works of this exhibition.

Statement
Artistic teachings are passed down like a legacy from one generation to the next, and from one era to another. By following this pattern, we can uncover inevitable similarities and curious differences—when each artist interprets what they have learned in their own unique way, making it their own. The artists featured in this exhibition come from two distinct but interconnected generations, some of whom were students of Aydin Aghdashloo from many years ago. As a result, one can trace a shared tradition among them, looking for signs in their works that reflect this simultaneity. At the same time, there are numerous differences that stem from each artist’s individual perspective, their explorations, and their personal analysis of teachings, time periods, and lived experiences. Perhaps searching for these inevitable similarities and curious differences is one of the most fascinating aspects of studying and observing art. This approach is what invites you to delve deeper into the works showcased in this exhibition.
