Samira Alikhanzadeh
Samira Alikhanzadeh is an Iranian artist born in 1967 (Tehran, Iran). She currently lives in Tehran. Alikhanzadeh began painting under the guidance of her mentor, Aydin Aghdashloo. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Alzahra University and a Master's degree in Painting from Islamic Azad University.
In her artwork, she utilizes acrylic paint, mirrors, and old photographs, often family images. Her aim in incorporating these old images is to explore the past and identity in contemporary Iran. In some of her works, she also uses Persian carpets.
