Nov 27, 2023
According to ILNA, the exhibition titled "Memory" featuring works by Hooman Nasiri, an expressionist painter and artist, will take place on December 1, 2023. This exhibition includes a collection of 28 paintings and 4 sculptures by Nasiri. The approach of this exhibition is based on understanding the evolution of Hooman Nasiri's works from the beginning of his artistic journey and creative endeavors, taking into account the ups and downs of his professional career throughout the process of creating his paintings and sculptures. Ba Gallery, along with its structure for introducing prominent contemporary artists of the country, will host the works of Hooman Nasiri this time.
Hooman Nasiri was born in Tehran in 1976. He received his bachelor's degree in painting from Sooreh University. Nasiri began his professional career in the 1990s and has since held fifteen solo exhibitions and forty-five group exhibitions. He has been a permanent member of the Iranian Painters Association since 2002 and was the selected artist of the "Iran: Land of Peace" festival in that same year. In explaining this exhibition, Ario Farzi wrote: "Hooman Nasiri is an expressionist painter with a poetic spirit who, after years of painting, has infused the world around him with his inherent poetic sensibility." His works do not aim to represent external realities; rather, they are transformed objects that have passed through the filter of the artist's vision and have found their own personal language. The transition from "angels" and winged beings that gaze upon the earth, to "flight," "shelter," "purgatory," and finally "birds," which form the innermost collection of Hooman Nasiri's works, is a testament to his heroic journey. The birds in Nasiri's works, which constitute the majority of his paintings, gaze at the sky in their dream of flight. The dynamic nature of this artist's designs creates a sense of flight for the viewer, offering a dream of freedom and relief from today's tense times, providing an alluring point for the audience of his works. The "Memory" collection will be on display from December 1st to 17th, daily from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Fridays from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the "Ba" Gallery located at: Army Boulevard West, Nakhl Street, Baharan Street, Nastran Alley, Modern Plaza Building, No. 1, sixth floor, units 602 and 603.
